PCST (Broomhill Sports Club) in Warsaw for the 2nd Meeting and the Multiplier Sport Event of GREEN SEAL, an Erasmus+ Sport Project

PCST (Parent Community Sports Trust) was in Warsaw on June 26th and 27th for the second Meeting of the ANTIDOPING Green Seal Project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action Sport, bringing together six partners from Belgium, Croatia, Italy, Poland, Spain and the UK.

The Project aims at enhancing the understanding and awareness of the negative implications of doping in recreational sports. As such, ANTIDOPING Green Seal fills a gap as most antidoping campaigns and activities often target athletes involved in professional and competitive sports.

The Green Seal Project will develop an Antidoping Ethical Code for recreational sports organisations across Europe to prevent unhealthy behaviours of non-professional athletes. The main target group of the Project is represented by young people in recreational sport settings, as well the whole range of stakeholders in recreational sports.

At the Warsaw meeting, partners brainstormed on the results of the research and survey carried out in the various countries. The results of the analysis will provide inputs for the development of the ethical code and Green Seal.

In conjunction with the Meeting, the Polish partner IRSIE (Instytut Rozwoju Sprtu I Educacji) held a Multiplier Event to present project results and engage Polish target groups and stakeholders. The Multiplier Event was a unique opportunity to disseminate Project results and involve stakeholders: in addition to representatives of sports organisations, non-professional athletes and local media, the Polish Anti-Doping Agency provided the patronage for the event and presented the doping trends in both professional and recreational settings in Poland.
